A Little Basic Information for You

Hey Guys!

Soooooooo….here’s what’s up. I’m going to be in Kazan, Russia for seven weeks, learning Russian. Not to sound trite, but I’m really looking forward to it – this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and I hope that I can take full advantage of it. Part of that experience, I think, is recording it – not only for my friends and family to keep tabs on me, but also for me to write down memories and feelings in order to make them permanent. Hence this blog. For the non-Russian speakers, Лето в Казани means “A Summer in Kazan.” Real creative, right?

Anyways, here’s what my summer’s gonna look like. I’m leaving on Sunday (June 20th) for a quick orientation in our nation’s capital. From there, I’m flying to Moscow (on the 22nd?). After a brief layover, we’ll be hopping on another plane to Kazan. Skipping ahead, oh, seven weeks, I come back to the states late late late the night of August 13th. In the meanwhile I’ll be doing my very best to blog something as frequently as possible – hopefully every few days, but thats probably unrealistic. I’m also going to try and post pictures on here, so that you too can see the wonders of Kazan. A lot of that depends on my access to the Internet, which unlike here in America, could actually be an issue. We’ll see. In the meanwhile, email me (my gmail account, astrosfanforever@gmail.com, is better because it is web-based, or something like that) if you’d like to talk to me one-on-one, with a personal message, whatever.

On another note, welcome! Only a few days until I get on a train from Penn Station to DC. Exciting stuff. If this riveting post has captured your attention, or if you just wanna hear about my Russian adventures/ramblings some more, click the subscribe button thingy on the righthand menu. I think it’ll email you (the address you give them, them being “the man”) when I write something. I’m really psyched for this summer and I hope y’all keep in touch or follow this blog!

Thanks guys,

Andrew

I hope you will have a good time. If you have a questions about Russian or their custom send e-mail to me. I think my “russkiy na mnogo luchshe moego angliyskogo- мой русский намного лучше моего английского”
    Good luck!

So excited for you Andrew! Have a blast and learn a lot–given the sad facts of our situation, you may come back way ahead of your “Droog” Matt in the Russian speaking department.

    Удачи!
